Why before Christmas is a good time to check your contract end date

With forecasts pointing to higher household energy prices from January, many people are being encouraged to review their energy before the new year. For a business, the run-up to Christmas is a sensible time to do the same — and the date that matters most is your contract end date.
December gets busy, and the Christmas break can easily push paperwork into the new year. Looking now, before things wind down, means you have time to review options calmly instead of rushing in January.
Most business contracts let you agree a new deal several months before your current one ends. Leaving it to the last few weeks can limit your options, and some contracts include renewal or notice clauses that need action by a specific date.
Start by finding the end date on your latest bill or contract paperwork. Check whether there is a notice period, and whether the contract renews automatically if you do nothing. Make a note of your meter numbers (MPAN for electricity, MPRN for gas), as these will be needed for any quote.
If your end date is within the next six to twelve months, it can be worth starting a review before Christmas. UTIVO can look at your current position, compare contract options from a range of suppliers and help you decide when to secure your next contract.
